Arthur J. Tarapaski was born in Lamont, Alberta in March 1955. He graduated from St. Paul Regional High School in 1973 and went on to receive a B.Sc. Geography (Survey Science) from the University of Alberta in 1978.

Articles were served under Bruce W. Jones, ALS from May 16, 1989 to May 4, 1993. The topic of the technical report submitted as part of the qualifying examination was "The Role of the Land Surveyor in a Land Related Information System."

Commission as an Alberta Land Surveyor was received on June 2, 1993.

Arthur is also a member of the Alberta Society of Surveying and Mapping Technologies and the Canadian Institute of Surveying and Mapping.

Experience in the survey industry includes over thirteen years primarily in oilfield related surveys with some work in control surveys, subdivisions, real property reports, construction layout, and roads.

Hobbies include computer programming, photography, fishing, skiing, golf and travelling.
