A.R. (Al) Pasini

Al Pasini, the son of a coal miner, was commissioned as an Alberta Land Surveyor on July 24, 1964. He was also a professional engineer.

Mr. Pasini began his long career with the UMA Group in 1959 and served in a number of responsible positions. He was elected to the UMA Group board of directors in 1971 and became president and chief operating officer of the firm in 1983. In 1991, he was made chief executive officer and spent most of his time at their corporate headquarters in Vancouver.

In 1992, he was awarded the APEGGA Centennial Award for his contribution to the engineering profession.

In his spare time, he enjoyed cycling and sailing.

Mr. Pasini was an active member of the Alberta Land Surveyors’ Association until 1996.
