Chris Fox was born in Ajax, Ontario. After graduating from Ajax High School in 2003, he went on to graduate from Acadia University in 2005 with a Certificate of Applied Science and from the University of New Brunswick in 2008 with a B.Sc. in Engineering.

Articles were served under Heather Roberts, ALS from 2008 to 2010 and Roger Ross, ALS from 2010 until he received his commission as an Alberta Land Surveyor on April 11, 2012.

Employment experience has been with Focus Surveys in Grande Prairie as a summer student in 2006 and 2007 and then as a full-time employee from 2008. Current employment is with Focus Surveys Limited Partnership in Grande Prairie.

Chris is president of the Grande Prairie Photography Club and Director—Technical Search and Rescue in Grande Prairie. He listed photography, music, climbing, back-packing, hockey and golf as leisure activities.
