D.R. (Dai) Yates

David Robert (Dai) Yates was born in Fort William, Ontario. He graduated from Western Canada High in Calgary in 1962 and then attended SAIT, University of Calgary and the University of Victoria.

Mr. Yates articled to Leo Raessler and Monroe Kinloch and obtained his commission as an Alberta Land Surveyor on July 5, 1976. He was also a British Columbia Land Surveyor.

His surveying experience included doing oilfield work all over Alberta and in the MacKenzie Delta and some Arctic Islands. Mr. Yates had also done residential subdivisions in Edmonton and area. He eventually became manager of Can-Am Surveys’ High Level office doing oilfield and general surveys.
