J.S. (John) Yuen

John Yuen was born in Port Louis, Mauritius in 1947 and came to Canada in 1976.

He graduated from Royal College in Port Louis in 1967 and earned a B.Sc. in survey engineering from the University of New Brunswick in 1974.

Gordon McLaren served as Mr. Yuen’s principal before he received his commission June 24, 1982. Mr. Yuen also held a commission as a Canada Lands Surveyor and was a member of APEGGA.

Mr. Yuen did two years of general surveying and engineering in Mauritius and subdivision and engineering surveys with McElhanney, Hagen Surveys and then on his own.

Mr. Yuen retired as an active Alberta Land Surveyor in 1998.
