Michael was born in Calgary, Alberta in 1983. He graduated from high school in 2001 and went on to receive a B.Sc. in Geomatics Engineering from the University of Calgary in 2006.

Alberta Land Surveyors Geoff Hobbs (2006-2007), Jerald Rasmuson (2007-2009) and Bruce Gudim (2009-2010) served as Michael’s principals. He received his commission on April 15, 2010. He is also an engineer-in-training with APEGGA.

Surveying experience is in the areas of oilfield, construction and powerlines. His office experience includes drafting, plan checking, mapping, project management and staff training. Michael is currently employed with Maltais Geomatics Inc. in Edmonton.
