R.E. (Robert) Lafreniere

Robert Lafreniere was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba in 1951. He graduated from Louis Riel High School in 1969 and Red River Community College in 1971 with a diploma in survey technology.

Mr. Lafreniere earned his commission as an Alberta Land Surveyor on June 29, 1978, having obtained his Canada Lands Surveyor commission the year earlier.

He was active in the Alberta Land Surveyors’ Association, serving on the Planning Group and the Practice Committee.

Mr. Lafreniere worked for Energy Mines and Resources Canada in Winnipeg, Ottawa and Yellowknife from 1972 to 1977 and then Public Works Canada in Edmonton in 1978. In 1979, he and Justin Brennan joined forces to form Lafreniere & Brennan Surveys Ltd.

Mr. Lafreniere left the Alberta Land Surveyors’ Association in 1985.
