R. (Ram) Achal

Ram Achal was born in Fiji on July 31, 1937 and emigrated to Canada on June 15, 1981. Ram graduated from D.A.V. College in Fiji in 1954, Coventry Technical College, U.K. in 1964, and Walthamstow Technical College, U.K. in 1969.

Dennis G. Clayton, ALS, served as principal. Commission as an Alberta Land Surveyor was received on January 27, 1998. Ram is also a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

The topic of the technical report submitted as part of the qualifying examination was Survey Fabric in a Cadastral System.

Involvement in ALSA activities includes serving on the Standards Committee in from 1996 to 1998.

Experience includes cadastral surveying in Alberta, cadastral and control surveying in Fiji, pipeline surveys in the Republic of Panama, cadastral surveying in the British Virgin Islands, and construction and topographic surveying in the United Kingdom.

Golf, hiking, and photography are hobbies that Ram enjoys.

Ram retired as an Alberta Land Surveyor in 2007.
