S. (Stan) Rudovics

Stanislaus (Stan) Rudovics was born in Merdzene, Latvia on December 1, 1916 and came to Canada in 1947. In 1942, he had completed his education at the Academy of Jelgava, Latvia Faculty of Forestry.

In 1948, he worked as a lumberjack in Northern Ontario. Moving to Alberta a year later, he became an Alberta Land Surveyor and began his association with Midwest Surveys as one of its founding shareholders.

Mr. Rudovics was active in the Latvian community in Edmonton and served as president of the society for several terms.

He died October 8, 1979.
