Commentary:
This 100 Foot ALS Standard Steel Tape is calibrated in feet and links. The foot side of the steel tape is marked “APEM-257 A.L.S. STANDARD FEET”. The link side is marked “A.L.S. STANDARD LINKS”.
Visible on the image above on both sides of the tape reel are markings ” 100′ = 100.003″ iindicating that the correction need to be applied when comparing it to the working tape. Also the name C.H. Weir along with his address is on both sides of the tape.
