Theodolite, Cooke, Troughton & Simms in wooden box case. Comes with Tripod ALSA 2016.04.05
The grey theodolite is about 35 cm (h) [with scope up] X 18 cm (w) [ including screws] X 15 cm (w) [including magnifying glasses.
The Theodolite has a double motion horizontal angle plate; and a single motion vertical angle plate;
each plate has two verniers 180 degrees from each other with attached magnifying glasses. There are various knerled knobs for locking and adjusting the transit screws on the instrument. There are three level bubbles for levelling the instrument .
It has three base plate leveling screws at the base which screws onto a tripod and six clamping pins for shuffling the instrument over the point on the ground.

The wooden brown box is 39 cm (l) X 22.5 cm (w) X 22 cm (h), with leather carrying strap for storage and transporting the instrument. The case has four rubber feet (on the bottom). The two piece case is connected together by three metal hinges (on the back) and two swing clamps (on the front) and the leather strap is affixed to the case by metal brackets attached to either end of the bottom part of the case.
Items included in the wooden case are:
– Lens sun shade,
– Dusting Brush,
– Three adjusting pins,
– Small wrench,
– Small clear plastic vial of oil,
– Screw driver and
– Hollow black tube for eye piece? (inside threaded on one end and outside knerled portion on other end).
All items are held in place by various wooden blocks, metal clips and threaded attachments, that are attached to the box.
A metal label is affixed to the top inside of the wooden box stating “Cooke Troughton and Simms LDT MANUFACTURES OF PRECISION INSTRUMENTS YORK, ENGLAND”.
