Commentary:
Measured from the bottom of the clinometer are two scales one to the left and one to the right each graduated from 0 to 90 degrees. Land surveyors measure the slope angle in degress and minutes for the conversion of slope distances to horizontal. On the back side of the clinometer “RSA B6449” is hand inscribed on the square sighting scope.
The box shape leather carrying case has a width of 12 cm, height of 8 cm and approximate depth of 6 cm..
The clinometer was owned by Ed Scovill ALS. Ed taught land survey technology at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology for over 30 years.
