Commentary:

The theodolite is marked “COOKE, THROUGHTON & SIMMS LTD., YORK, ENGLAND. V013334”. It comes with a wooden carrying case and a tripod.

The wooden case contains a sunshade for the telescope, dusting brush, three adjusting pins, a small wrench, a small clear plastic vial of oil, and a screwdriver. A metal label is affixed to the top inside of the wooden box states “Cooke Troughton and Simms LTD. MANUFACTURES OF PRECISION INSTRUMENTS YORK, ENGLAND”.

The wooden tripod ALSA 2016.04.05 has the symbol  logo “CTS” on it which presumably stands for Cook, Troughton and Simms. It is painted fluorescent red. The legs of the tripod are telescoping; that is they can be collapsed or extended. The length of the tripod when collapsed is 97 cm, when fully extended is 150 cm.
