Commentary:

This total station was introduced in 1980. It measured distances over 1000 m. and angles to 10 seconds.  It used infrared light beams to measure the distances.
The instrument has various black knobs for locking and adjusting the horizontal and vertical motions, one folding directional mirror for lighting up the internal micrometers, and one silver (in color) small bracket above the mirror.
A rotating scope has an objective lens on one side and two eyepieces (one for focusing and one for reading the micrometers). There are also two black knobs for adjusting the telescope and other micrometers and one plug in port for the power chord. There is a small screen and a knob next to it for making adjustments between “FINE COARSE”.
The tribrach has three black levelling screws, one black eyepiece for plumbing the instrument over a point and one black lever for locking the instrument into the tribrach.
