Commentary:
The top has a 15 cm long detachable flexible antenna, knobs that control OFF, VOLUME and “SQUELCH. A 6-channel selector dial and jacks for a speaker and microphone. The bottom part of the Hand-held ICOM Radiophone has a removable part exposing the space for the rechargeable battery pack (battery has been removed).
The front of the phone unit has a speaker grill with a metallic label “ICOM IC-H6” in the upper right hand corner. The back of the phone has a metal label “VHF TRANSCEIVER ICOM IC-H6 SERIAL NO. 27707866”. A metal label “ICOM CM-4” is on the battery pack.
Identification numbers for Channel 1 and Channel 2 are taped on the phone. These may be matching channels for the two channel WR Communications radiophone (ALSA 2008.02.06) also donated by Kinloch, Underwood and Assocates.
