Commentary:
This altimeter is in a brass case, with a glass crystal, and a brass side stem with a pivoting ring. The dial has a needle that rotates around the circular face in accordance with the atmospheric pressure. The dial is graduated in inches of mercury from 23 to 31 inches and in altitude fom 0 to 8000 feet. On the dial of the altimeter are the words “COMPENSATED FOR TEMPERATURE.”
