Commentary:

F.2453. This altimeter is calibrated in feet and inches of mercury. Pocket watch style brass case with front glass face and brass side stem with pivoting ring. It is 2″ (5.1cm) in diameter, 9/16″ (.18cm) thick. The face of the dial is swept by one movable needle rotating across the circular face. It is graduated in inches of mercury from 23 to 31 and 0 to 8000 feet.
