Commentary:

This altimeter is one of a pair. The Pennwalt Corp. was established in 1969 so the production of these altimeters would be after that date. Tables attached to the underside of the lid of the altimeter show the air temperature and relative humidity corrections to determine the altitude.

They were owned by the.Geodetic Survey of Canada and would likely have been used for determining altitude and for determining atmospheric pressure for electronic distance measuring corrections.
