CF-8 Stereoscope and leather case. The stereoscope is made of two black cast metal frames, each holding a circular magnification glass. These frames are joined by a sliding cast scale graduated in mm: the numbers 50, 60 and 70 are in raised lettering on the scale. The dimensions of the frames when fully-extended are 15 cm (l) X 5.5 cm (w) X 1 cm (t) or 12 cm (l) when collapsed. There are two folding metal silver-coloured boxed legs on either end of each frame. These legs are 12 cm (l) X 7 cm (w) at the widest point. Cast into the top of one of the frames in raised lettering are the words “ABRAMS INSTRUMENT CORP LANSING, MICH. PATENTED”.

The brown leather case is 14 cm (l) X 8.5 cm (w) X 2 cm (t) and has a brown metal snap button to close the flap to the main body of the case. Under the metal button on the front of the case is stamped: “CF-8 STEREOSCOPE MANUFACTURED BY ABRAMS INSTRUMENT CORP LANSING, MICHIGAN U.S.A.” and on the back of the case, written in pen, are the words “CAN-AM SURVEYS DENNIS TOMKINSON”.
