Commentary:

50 metre (164 foot) metal (6 mm width) tape in reel. Tape is marked “WN A”.

This tape is graduated on one side in metres, centimetres and millimeters with the metres and centimetres being numerically-marked. The other side is marked in feet, tenths and hundredths with the feet and tenths being numerically-marked.

Both ends have a chrome loop. Cross-shaped chromed reel (23.5cm X 36 cm) with a wooden stick handle. The handle is stamped “1732” below “WN A”. The other side of the handle is marked “150FT, NW Wade”. NW Wade stands for Norman Wade. Norman Wade Company was a Canadian supplier and manufacturer of surveying and drafting equipment and instruments.
