Commentary:
One side of the transit is labeled “Made in Japan”, the other side is labeled :DIETZGEN 117109″ It has open verniers for the horizontal and vertical circles.
A EUGENE DIETZEN CO label in the wooden box has under the heading “TOP-SITE TRANSIT 6140” contains the transit specifications.
