Commentary:
Jack Holloway’s transit. Made by E.R. Watts and Son, London, 2252. Transit, E.R. Watts & Son comes with sun shade and leather-covered wooden box. Transit: “E.R. WATTS & SON, LONDON. 2252” is engraved on the transit. Transit screws into the tripod head. Missing eyepiece for vernier. Box is in poor condition (see condition report). Accessories in the box are a right-angled prism eyepiece (for taking star shots), a metal tripod head cover and a spare bubble (in a closed part of the box).
