Commentary:
This DLS Standard Tape No 791 was owned by Wally Youngs DLS and ALS. who was a past diector of survey for the province of Alberta..It is calibrated on one isdie in metres and on the other side in feet.
With the tape are Canada National Research Council verification documents. One of the document shown in the image above – Report No. APEM dated July 13, 1955 states that at a temperature of 68 F and with a tension of 10 pounds that: 0-100 feet on the tape = an actual length of 100.003 feet and that 0 – 100 links on the tape = an actual length of 100.007 links.
