  • Accessories:
    • 2 detachable square horns 12 cm long and 9.5 on the square end
    • 2 plastic tripod mounting adapters 8cm in diameter and 2.5 cm thick with a female 15mm ( 5/8″) hole and a 6mm (1/4″) male bolt.
    • 2 metal tribrach adaptor is 8 cm in diameter and 3.5 cm thick including the 3 brass pegs. It has an aluminum knurled knob on bottom of a 6 mm (1/4′) bolt. to attach to the bottom of the battery pack. This metal adapter is designed to fit in a tribrach.
    • a small metal fuse box container – 4 cm x 3.5 cm x 8mm with 2 good fuses.
    • 2 head sets (one microphone and two ear pieces connected by cable to a male plug).
    • 2 power cable connectors (one end has a female connector and the other end has two rubber sleeved battery post connectors – ends are connected by a grey curly cable).

EDM, Tellurometer, Model CA 1000, s/n 1457 (slave unit). Yellow plastic case 35 cm long, 16 cm width including knobs, 11 cm height including knobs. The face of the case has a black face with three knobs, a metering dial numbered 0 to 10, headphone jack. The black face is marked “TELLUROMETER CA 1000” “PLESSEY” ” SERIAL No 1457″. The yellow top of the case has a label affixed to it “TELLUROMETER” with a stretched globe and a thunderbolt through it. The front of the yellow case has a metal 5 cm diameter mounting bracket for the attachable horn. The battery pack has a male electrical plug on the right side, and the bottom has 2 locking screws, a center 4.5 cm metal adapter plate to accept either the plastic tripod mounting adapter the metal tribrach adaptor. There is a label on the bottom “TELLUROMETER FARMINGDALE NEW YORK , USA”

Notes: Instrument was owned by Brown Okamura & Associates Ltd. It was used to measure distance on Alberta Control Network in the Crowsnest Pass region of South Western Alberta in the mid 1970’s. These long range instruments were used in pairs to obtain distances between survey stations in the mountains from the Alberta / British Columbia boundary east to about Range 6, W5M, along the highway 3 corridor through the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass.
