Portable “CANTEL” phone. Plastic black hand-held receiver and speaker (21 cm (l) X 5.5 cm (w) X 4 cm (h)) is connected to a transceiver by a curly cord. The back of the phone has 23 buttons (function and alpha numeric), a small 4 cm X 2.5 cm screen and in large red letters, the word “CANTEL”. On the front of the phone is the ear piece and mouth piece and in between is a small plastic cover over the nameplate and specification information.

The portable black plastic transceiver and battery pack is approximately 22 cm (l) X 7.5 cm (w) X 13 cm (h) and houses the cradle for the phone on the top. One end of the unit has the curly cable connected to the phone, a small round plug in port (with a rubber cap connected to the end of the transceiver), a test button, a small circular power indicator and a clip that holds one end of a shoulder strap. The other end of the transceiver and battery pack has a curly cord that connects the battery pack to a DC cigarette lighter plug in, a flexible antenna (about 33 cm long), a clip that holds the other end of a shoulder strap and a label showing instructions for connecting the battery pack to the transceiver.

The cradle on the top of the transceiver has two inserts for clipping the hand held unit into it, one housing the connection switch and locking mechanism. Along the top side of the transceiver is a slide bar to release the phone. Next to the release bar is a symbol and the words “DiamondTel”. The shoulder strap is red and black striped woven nylon and is approximately 130 cm fully extended. It has “DiamondTel” and a symbol near each end.
