Commentary:
This total station was part of the Geodimeter 600 System. It was introduced in 1994. The system covered three classes of total stations: the Geodimeter 610, 620 and 640 with the 610 being the basic system. A feature of the system, as described in a 1996 Geodimeter brochure is that could be upgraded by adding different modules. Some of the modules that were available are tracker and radio modules which enabled the instrument to track a pole target automatically with the data acquisition controlled from the prism end, and three memory modules with capacities of 1000, 5000 or 10,000 points.
A metal plaque on bottom of this total station reads: “Geotronics, Made in Sweden, TYPE: GDM 610 571 202 002, SER. NO: 61012497.” A “Stantec ….” label is attached to the front of the instrument and another one is on the back.
The “FUJI-KOH SUNRAY” tribrach has an adjustable optical plummet and a “bulls eye” level bubble. The tribrach is made in Japan and is engraved “719”. A small label inside the tribrach is hard to read but the serial number i”01633″.is visible.
